Orbit Drop privacy policy

Last updated: 1 August 2026

Orbit Drop is built to keep to itself. It has no accounts, no sign-up, and no developer-operated remote analytics. Your arcade records, settings, and cosmetic choices are stored in the app container on this device.

What stays on your device

Almost everything. Your arcade statistics, settings, and cosmetic choices live in local storage. The app container may be included in an Apple-managed device backup according to your iCloud or device-backup settings. Clearing arcade stats in Settings erases the corresponding on-device records; it does not affect purchases, which Apple keeps against your Apple Account.

Version 1.3 and later: Orbit Lab trials and summaries, baselines, response profile, measurement profile, training reminder schedule and state also live in local storage. Orbit Drop does not send Orbit Lab data to the developer, Game Center, AdMob, analytics, or a notification.

Version 1.3 and later: Orbit Drop keeps a rolling window of up to 200 share and challenge actions, non-personal context codes for those actions, and lifetime counters by action type in local storage. It does not send these local activity stats to the developer or any analytics service. Clear Arcade Stats removes them.

Version 1.3 and later: Clear Arcade Stats and Clear Training History are separate actions in Settings. Clearing training history removes Lab trials, summaries, baselines, trends, and training-completion counters, while preserving your reminder choices, schedule, and completed Lab introduction. Neither action affects purchases, which Apple keeps against your Apple Account.

Game Center (on by default, optional)

Game Center is on by default so leaderboards and achievements work from the start. While it is on, your scores and unlocked achievements are shared with Apple's Game Center, handled by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy.

The Compete screen has Friends and Global leaderboard scopes. Apple supplies the leaderboard entries shown to the app. Both scopes can display your Game Center nickname, photo (if you have one), rank, and score. Friends can also display the nicknames, photos, ranks, and scores of your Game Center friends who play Orbit Drop; Global can display those details for other Game Center players. Eligible arcade scores that Orbit Drop sends to Apple's Game Center can appear on these boards.

Orbit Drop uses this Apple-supplied player data only for the Compete board and the optional in-run friend-rival comparison. The full board and its photos live only in memory and are cleared when you leave Compete. For the in-run comparison, only the selected friend's nickname and depth may remain in memory until the app session ends. No rival photo is retained after Compete closes. Orbit Drop does not persist or log any of this player data, does not add it to a share card, and does not send it anywhere else. Turning Game Center off immediately clears cached rival and avatar data.

We never see your real name or your Apple Account: a Game Center nickname is whatever you chose to be called, and Apple decides which players appear in Friends or Global. Every arcade mode still works with Game Center off. In version 1.3 and later, Orbit Lab also works with Game Center off.

Notifications (your choice)

Version 1.2: Play Reminders are on by default and scheduled entirely on your device. After your first finished run, iOS asks once whether the game may send them; if you say no, nothing asks again. You can turn them off in Settings at any time. There is no notification server or remote push campaign.

Version 1.3 and later: Training Reminders always start off. Lives Ready Alerts start off on a new install. If an existing v1.2 player had already chosen visible Play Reminders and iOS still permits visible alerts, that choice may carry forward only as Lives Ready Alerts. The two channels are controlled separately. Orbit Drop asks for alert and sound permission only after you explicitly confirm a training schedule or accept the separate lives-ready offer. They are local notifications: there is no notification server or remote push campaign, and no score or Lab result appears in a notification.

Version 1.3 and later: A training schedule and the usual-time suggestion stay on this device. Training reminders are bounded, never exceed one per day, and pause after a bounded unanswered sequence. Lives Ready uses a separate request and is not part of that once-daily training limit. Orbit Drop can record that it successfully scheduled a request or that you opened the app from its notification, but it cannot know whether Focus hid it, Scheduled Summary delayed it, or you saw, read, or dismissed it. You can pause Training Reminders or disable either channel at any time.

Purchases

Purchases are one-time and handled entirely by Apple's App Store. The app never sees your payment details. It only asks the App Store whether you own a product, so it can unlock it.

Advertising

This app shows ads through Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK). To serve and measure ads, Google and its ad partners may collect a device advertising identifier, an approximate location worked out from your IP address, how you interact with ads and with the game, and device, performance and crash information. The game never asks for your precise location and does not use location services at all. Google handles this data under Google's own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. Buying Remove Ads removes eligible banners. Optional rewarded ads may remain available as player-initiated arcade refill choices; they are presented only after you choose them and are never forced. Version 1.3 and later: Eligible banners may appear on the Orbit Lab hub and result screens, but no ad appears during a timed check and no Orbit Lab result is supplied for advertising.

Your choices about ads

Where consent is required (the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), the game asks before ads use your data. The consent form names the ad partners involved, and you can accept or reject them. You can change your decision at any time under Settings, Ad Privacy. Apple's tracking permission is separate and lives in iOS Settings, under Privacy and Security, then Tracking.

Children

Orbit Drop is not directed to children and does not ask players to provide personal information. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Where this build shows advertising, any data Google and its ad partners may collect is described above and is subject to the consent and platform choices available in your region.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will appear here and in the App Store listing.
